Frequently Asked Questions

Statutory guidance and answers from our clinical registration directors.

What is included in the £500 Document Review & Gap Analysis?

This is an independent review for prospective providers who have already prepared their registration documents. We review the Statement of Purpose and available supporting documents against relevant published CQC registration guidance, identify apparent gaps and provide written findings with suggested improvements. One 45-minute video call is included to discuss the findings. The service does not include rewriting the complete application, ongoing registration support or a guarantee of approval.

What does the £1,500 CQC registration support service include?

The £1,500 + VAT fee covers guidance and practical support throughout your CQC registration period, from preparation through to the registration decision. This includes help understanding provider and manager applications, DBS and references, insurance and premises requirements, reviewing application documents, interview preparation guidance and responding to CQC queries. It does not include the separately priced documents, business plan or dedicated two-hour interview coaching session. The agreed scope is set out in your service agreement.

What is included in the £2,300 complete registration package?

The complete package combines registration support for £1,500 + VAT with five document services costing £800 + VAT in total: core policies and procedures (£200), business plan and three-year cash-flow forecast (£300), Statement of Purpose (£100), service user guide and complaints information (£100), and staff training plan (£100). Dedicated Registered Manager coaching (£200) is a separate service.

Can I buy CQC registration support without purchasing documents?

Yes. If you have already prepared your policies, Statement of Purpose, business plan and other required documents, you can purchase registration support for £1,500 + VAT separately. We can review the information you provide within the agreed scope and identify any apparent gaps, but you remain responsible for the accuracy of your application.

How much is Registered Manager interview coaching?

One dedicated two-hour Registered Manager interview coaching session costs £200 + VAT. It covers discussion of your service, regulatory responsibilities and practice questions. It is separate from the general interview guidance within registration support and does not guarantee a particular interview or registration outcome.

Can I purchase individual documents?

Yes. Core policies cost £200 + VAT; a business plan with three-year cash-flow forecast costs £300 + VAT; a Statement of Purpose, service user guide and staff training plan each cost £100 + VAT. CQC registration support is also available separately for £1,500 + VAT. We confirm the deliverables and any revisions in writing.

How long does CQC registration take?

Preparing an application and waiting for the CQC assessment are separate stages. Registration can take several months, depending on the application, the readiness of the provider and CQC processing. We can assist throughout the agreed registration period but cannot control CQC timescales or guarantee approval.

Does a supported living service always need CQC registration?

No. The requirement depends on whether your organisation carries on a regulated activity, such as personal care. Accommodation and general support alone do not automatically require registration. Where regulated personal care will be provided, the application must accurately describe the service and its housing and care arrangements.

What documents may be required for a domiciliary care or supported living application?

The requirements depend on your regulated activities and service model. CQC guidance identifies a Statement of Purpose, relevant policies, and additional supporting documents for these services such as a business plan and financial forecast, evidence relating to premises, a service user guide and staff training plan. Check CQC’s current supporting-document guidance before submitting your application.

Do I need a Level 5 qualification to apply as a Registered Manager?

CQC considers whether a proposed Registered Manager has the knowledge, competence, qualifications and experience appropriate to the service. A Level 5 qualification may be relevant, but it should not be described as a universal requirement for every applicant.

What happens if CQC requests changes or further information?

Our registration support includes practical assistance understanding CQC requests and preparing responses during the agreed registration period. Changes to separately purchased documents are handled according to the revision terms in your written agreement. The applicant remains responsible for providing accurate information.

Can you guarantee CQC registration approval?

No. CQC makes its own registration decisions. We provide guidance, documentation and preparation services, but we cannot guarantee approval, a specific timeframe or the outcome of a Registered Manager interview.

Why are prices shown excluding VAT?

The prices on this page are listed excluding VAT, with VAT added at the applicable rate. Your quotation will confirm the total payable. VAT recovery depends on your organisation’s own tax circumstances and should not be assumed.
