CQC Registration Readiness Checklist

Planning to start a domiciliary care agency or a supported living service in England? Use our free checklist to review how far you have progressed with your registration preparation, including your proposed service, management arrangements, premises, staffing and supporting documents. Choose your service type before answering the questions.

Your answers produce an indicative preparation score and suggestions about areas to review. Requirements vary with the regulated activities, service type and people you intend to support.

Select the service that best matches your plans. The questions and maximum score will adjust accordingly. If you intend to register more than one service type, review each separately.

How to use your readiness score

Treat your result as a starting point for reviewing your plans, not a prediction of CQC approval. A high score does not mean an application is complete or that the regulator will grant registration. A lower score can help identify practical preparation work still to be done.

Check the latest requirements for your specific service before submitting an application. CQC may require additional documents and information depending on the activities and service user groups you propose.

This is an independent self-assessment from CQC Registration Services, not an official CQC tool or regulatory decision. For authoritative requirements, see CQC provider registration guidance.
